I felt like writing a post this early morn, this 6:24am I can't sleep morn. Then I realized I had nothing awesome to write about. Gone are the days of dozens of notes laying about in such disorganized fashion, since I couldn't remember what was where anyway. Perhaps I should rez that old habit and patch it up a bit to being more useful. *note to self: ignor thoughts about making notes again* Okay, that's settled now.


What we do have today for your random wanderings, is some random screenshots! Aygaren said something about being busy the rest of the weekend, and into the next week, so he offered up a bit of time for the camera.

When It Rains...

"When it rains, it pours." I don't remember where that originally came from. I just know it's one of those really old sayings that generally holds a goodly bit of truth about itself. ATM, I think I'm floating somewhere aimlessly upon flood ravaged plains. LOL! We do what we can, and ride out the rest.

I try not to get down about things anymore, afterall, "shit happens." But when the rains turn to floods, sometimes it's a little hard to tread water. Health stuff don't really bother me anymore, it is what it is. On the other hand, weird comp issues interrupting game play are a real pain in the you-know-where! Sooo...

I'm floating around the blog community this morning attempting to catch up on a mountain of blog posts I've missed of late. Most everyone I read looks like they've been carrying on fairly well in my absence. Except maybe Ancient, who I'm sure probably needs a few hugs these days. *hint*

I like quite a few bloggers for probably as many reasons as there are bloggers. Even if they don't wholly specialize in WoW, *cough*, I still like them. Wit, humor, sarcasam, rants, raves and whatever else they may toss out...it's all good. Every so often though, some sort of crap gummys up the works and opinionated bloggers become even more opinionated. Although things can be quite interesting on any given day in the community, you just never know what can tip the balance and flow of things at any moment.

It's times like these when I sit back, comfortable in the knowledge that I write in this blog. I write what I wish to write about. I write in a blog, while coming up on two years of age, most people don't even know about. I don't get hundreds of page views a day, maybe 10-12 per week last time I bothered looking. I have one (1) regular commentor and a few followers. All very nice people whose blogs I enjoy reading.

I don't get any spam, or trolls or hate mails. Most certainly the sign of a non-descript blog. And you know what? It's all good. If I want to post about some achievement I managed to earn, or some rare beast I managed to down solo, or some other thing most people consider common place noob stuff......guess what...I can do that. My cheevie, my kill, my blog.

Mind you now! I am in no way ranting or taking stabs at anyone. It is a self-evaluation, simply triggered by some readings from around the community. I am no longer the writer I used to be, but that's okay. This blog is about my journeys and time in Azeroth. The two wouldn't mix very well, and then there would be one of those nasty goblin explosions gone wrong. Sometimes I question my own blogging intentions/direction and wonder if I should do more. Sometimes. At the beginning of this 2012 year, I considered becoming a bit more opinionated. It's still under consideration, lol.

Someday, Moonkin Journeys may undergo some transformations. Someday. In the meantime....

Defragmenting Game

Note cards, and more cards, and scraps of paper with quick notes. They're everywhere. Game comp desk, work comp desk, taped to hang from the shelfs, stuffed into a notebook. Just freakin' everywhere.


Every so often I go through this spreading infestation of notes, making vain attempts to organize it into something remotely useful. About hopeless at best. The roots of this maddening array lies in the memory banks, way back somewhere in the corners of my mind. There was a time I recall, when I was quite the organized type person with memory that could rival a standard desktop. Gone, are those times. Just about as lost as I am now when searching for some game notes I've made to replace the failing memory banks. And if you've ever wondered about how the sub-title of this blog came to be: "One Nightelf Druids' Fragmented View", well, now you've got a good clue.

Recent case in point; about a month or so ago there was a time while going through my reader that several blog anniversaries would pop up. This got me to thinking about my own blog anniversary, which I couldn't remember when it was. In turn, this prompted a search for the date (make a note), glance at the post count (make a note), glance through all the posts to see if one stood out as better than the others (no note), and so on down the line. Make decision to create some sort of anniversary post (make a note). Then, true to the new way of things, promptly forget about the whole mess. Untill this morning. And I have no clue as to what sparked this reminder of a memory lapse.

Well then. Since there wasn't any outstanding post(s) to declare for a one year anniversary, nor anything really worthy of mention to recall, I'm just going to let this ride it's coarse for the year and leave you with a little eye-candy, some WoW puter art I dabble with. Maybe in the coming year, I'll actually write an outstanding post to celebrate next years anniversary with. It could happen. Really. It's possible......maybe. ( btw- if you're curious, it was 29-May)

Coming and Going: The Cycle

We've gone through this cycle of progression more times than I can remember at the moment, and it still saddens me a bit. You've got this great little blog stuck in your reader because you really like reading it all the time. And then one day or night, whooosshh!  It's gone. Sometimes you can see the little signs of it's coming, sometimes you don't think it'll ever happen. But it does. You realize that you should accept this change, since change is inevitable anyway, but it don't ever make it any easier to see the loss or the feelings that come with it.

I haven't been around long enough, to have known some of the communities long time respected bloggers whose names I've heard spoken of reverently many times over. In my time though, I have experienced the feelings of "loss" more times than I would have cared to. This time around though, I see the community pulling together over the more recents departures of well-known bloggers. If you haven't already, make sure to stop by these encouraging posts, and get involved!

Armor for (blog) Wars?

I've been around the wow internets a fair amount of time now, albeit, silently. I have this tendency to avoid getting personal about anything, to be publicly opinionated on any subject or to take up sides in any of the often heated debates that pop up. It's just me.


Considering some recent events though, along with a virtual all-out bar fight to boot, this crickity old one with the fragmented mind is going to say a few words. /Shockwave! Yes, I do have opinions from time to time and sometimes, they may even border upon intelligent. (rare, I admit)

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned before just how much of an avid blog reader I am. With google reader bursting at the seams and my favorites tab showing signs of middle age spread, there's not much I miss out on while bouncing around the wow blogosphere. Well, at least it seems that way. Obviously, I don't read every rss subscribed or favorited blog every day. My hap-hazard system allows me to scan through all posts from all blogs I've found an interest in for some reason or another, snatch up the ones that strike an immediate interest within, then move on to the ones I do read all posts from regulary. Yes, it's a strange journey indeed.

Now, here is where it gets a bit sticky for me. I get to know blog authors. Not personally, but through their writings. I receive and formulate distinct thoughts of and feelings for them through their posts. It's kinda sorta like kindred spirits. I don't always agree with my favorite bloggers at times, but respect their right to voice their thoughts/opinions, and continue to patronize their corner of the community.

What saddens this ol' heart, is seeing one of my favorites stop blogging. That "final post", does tend to make these eyes a bit blurry-visioned. One can easily accept the reasons of: long time player quitting wow, real life changes, etc. But to see blogs go awry or even shut down over all out "blogging warfare", is simply un-acceptable.

GROW UP PEOPLE!

Even like-minded people are not going to have perfectly matching opinions. Differing views are what makes the world go 'round, and grow. You CAN agree to disagree. You CAN disagree totally, and enter into intelligent, RESPECTFUL debate over the issue. MAYBE even come to a mutual understanding of each others views. Hell, if it weren't for all the personal slandering and blood-letting, you might even come up with the best resolution for the issue, or whatever it was that got lost in the heat of the battle anyway.

Would I be speaking about morality, or some form of blogging 'Table of Manners' here? No, not really. Just a little common sense and human decency will do. The old saying is that it takes two to fight, and, there is always two sides to any story. I'm quite sure that open communication and respect will go a long ways towards solving any disagreement. Well, most of the time. Maybe. It is after all, World of WARcraft. (yeah, I went there :))

I hear (read) about the warcraft blogging "community". Within that community I find a virtual truck-load of intelligent, well-versed and knowledgeable writers of all flavors. A grand horn of plenty. Human nature seems to dictate that two people will argue over just about anythng. Why does it seem at times that such a great and wonderful community finds it difficult to rise above this rather simplistic and demeaning aspect of human nature? Blogging warfare. "Is this really necessary?"

Blog Direction?

The other day I had the opportunity to exchange emails with a well-known and respected druid blogger. During this brief exchange, he asked what Moonkin Journeys was, if it was a blog. My reply was rather simple for obvious reasons. Along the lines of, yes, it is a druid blog, with no real direction. This is actually a rather accurate description...unfortunately. And so, the subject of todays' post.
